Research

We believe the future of architecture and cities must be explored, not assumed. Research allows us to anticipate the forces of a digitised society — from AI and IoT to ESG imperatives — and to create futures that are resilient, meaningful and viable.

We combine research depth with methodological precision. Building on Sonja’s and Dietmar’s work at ETH Zurich, the Future Cities Laboratory, the National University of Singapore and The Berlage Center, our laboratory works exploratively and iteratively. We ground our foresight in robust data, scenario planning and interdisciplinary collaboration — ensuring outcomes that are visionary yet actionable.

We develop strategic foresight, governance models and ESG analyses. Our projects range from industrial design to installations, urban strategies and architectural prototypes. Each initiative is tested through digital simulation, fieldwork and co-creation, turning abstract challenges into tangible frameworks.

We work with cities, investors, institutions and organisations seeking to prepare for transformation. Our role is to guide leaders through uncertainty with research that is independent, experimental and forward-looking — helping them shape futures that cannot be predicted, but can be created.
