Las Torres del Jardín
Crafting vertical ecosystems“Las Torres del Jardín redefines urban living in Madrid by seamlessly integrating green spaces into a vibrant mixed-use community, where architecture meets nature to promote sustainability and enhance the city's ecological future.”
Sonja Berthold, principal and cofounder
Las Torres del Jardín is a bold and sustainable addition to the Spanish capital’s efforts to lower heat levels and cut CO2 emissions by building a 75-kilometre green forest around the city, which will consist of nearly half a million new trees.
Madrid’s evolving urban landscape, seamlessly integrating the city’s ambition to combat climate change through the creation of the Metropolitan Forest. This pair of mixed-use towers, standing at 16 and 19 floors above a three-storey podium, rises as a vertical extension of the green belt, connecting the dense city fabric with nature.
The towers serve as vibrant ecosystems, combining residences, restaurants, galleries, silent industry spaces, and fitness facilities. Designed with an emphasis on community and sustainability, each tower features cantilevering floors that house common spaces, fostering interaction between residents. Generous sky gardens and verdant terraces work in synergy with the larger forest initiative, encouraging biodiversity while offering an oasis of green within the urban environment.
The podium at the base creates a dynamic ground-level experience, with commercial and cultural spaces that enrich the local neighbourhood. Together, the towers and podium embody a new vision of urban living in Madrid, where architecture not only serves its inhabitants but also contributes to the broader environmental goals of the city. Through the integration of green spaces, both vertically and horizontally, Las Torres del Jardín redefines the relationship between built environments and nature, promoting a healthier and more sustainable future for the city.
